Ibom Air, a domestic airline, has expanded its fleet with the addition of two Bombardier CRJ 900 next-generation aircraft, identified by the registrations 5N-CED and 5N-CEE. The aircraft were officially received by Governor Umo Eno in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

During the reception, Governor Eno emphasized the significance of this acquisition, stating, “The introduction of these two CRJ 900 aircraft underscores our administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting Ibom Air and aligns with our ARISE Agenda, which focuses on strategic investments in sectors that can drive economic growth and elevate our state’s standing within the federation.”

Mr. Mfon Udom, the Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions, noting, “We are thrilled to incorporate these two CRJ 900 aircraft into our fleet. With this enhancement, Ibom Air now boasts a total of nine aircraft, comprising two Airbus A220-300s and seven CRJ 900s.

However, we recognize the need for continued growth to establish ourselves as a prominent scheduled carrier. We are looking forward to receiving the remaining nine Airbus A220-300s from Airbus over the next three years.

These two new CRJ 900s were acquired through direct purchases funded by a shareholder loan, and their inclusion will enhance our service capacity, improving connectivity and reliability for our passengers.”
