This investment strategy was revealed during a ceremony marking his official start in Awka. Professor Odoh indicated that N10 billion would be sourced through Public-Private Partnerships to support essential infrastructure and corporate social responsibility projects.
During the event, he also shared his intention to repurpose the university kitchen as his temporary residence until the permanent Vice Chancellor's residence is completed, allowing him to stay informed about campus activities. He emphasized that living off-campus would hinder his awareness of university matters.
Furthermore, Professor Odoh expressed his commitment to implementing transformative changes aimed at elevating the university's status, highlighting the need to enhance academic performance, which he described as currently inadequate.
In the course of outlining some of his programs, Odoh went on to add that... “The university can longer be depending on international and national grants. The university will also begin to reward hard work and punish disloyalty.
“We shall construct a 150 -room hotel with events and meeting rooms to provide comfort and security to visitors to the university and its environs through accommodation and conference services.
“We are embarking on the implementation of Coordinated Renewable Energy Solutions /Institution of N100 million qusi- endowment fund to support research in Renewable Energy.
