Wolverhampton achieved its first victory in the English Premier League after 11 matches, moving off the bottom of the table with a 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, alleviating some of the pressure on manager Gary O’Neil.

Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha assisted Pablo Sarabia for a goal in the second minute and later scored himself in the second half, leading Wolves to success at Molineux.

Southampton now finds itself at the bottom of the standings, having lost nine of its 11 matches since returning to the Premier League.

Fulham continued its strong season with a 3-0 victory against 10-man Crystal Palace, leveling on points with fourth-placed Chelsea. Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring, and Harry Wilson, who netted two stoppage-time goals to secure a win against Brentford on Monday, added two more late goals after Daichi Kamada received a red card for Palace.

Brentford rebounded from their recent defeat with a 3-2 win over Bournemouth, highlighted by a brace from Yoane Wissa and a decisive goal from Mikkel Damsgaard in the 50th minute.

West Ham played to a goalless draw at home against Everton, with England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford making a stunning save in stoppage time to earn a point for the visitors.

In the later matches, defending champions Manchester City, who were coming off three consecutive losses in all competitions, faced Brighton, while league leaders Liverpool hosted Aston Villa.
