Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo officially inaugurated a new electronic gate (E-gate) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport's Lagos departure terminal. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued a Friday statement announcing the E-gate's deployment, attended by FAAN Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku.

FAAN stated that the e-gate initiative is designed to enhance passenger comfort, reflecting the minister's commitment to modernizing Nigeria's aviation sector and optimizing the passenger journey.

“This upgrade is part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the @UBAGroup, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and keeping abreast with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s renewed hope agenda,” FAAN added.

Moreover, the authority announced the deployment of four new compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered buses for passenger service in Lagos.

These buses, designed for accessibility and accommodating passengers with disabilities, underscore Nigeria's dedication to carbon emission reduction and the attainment of international climate goals.
