The Lagos State Government has unveiled the MyLagos App, a digital platform designed to simplify city navigation and improve the urban experience for residents. The app, developed in collaboration with MTN Nigeria and other key stakeholders, was launched on Thursday at MTN Plaza, Falomo, Ikoyi.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, described the launch as a significant milestone in Lagos’ journey to becoming a leading smart city in Africa.

A Comprehensive Digital Solution

The MyLagos App serves as a one-stop platform, offering seamless access to essential city services such as real-time traffic updates, personalized navigation, emergency services, utility payments, business listings, and tourism information.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the app bridges the gap between the government and residents, promoting transparency and accountability.

“Technology has evolved from being a luxury to a necessity. In our fast-paced world, effectively utilizing technology can significantly enhance governance, improve service delivery, and simplify the lives of every resident in this vibrant state,” he said.

“With the launch of the MyLagos App, Lagos State is poised to remain at the forefront of digital transformation, not just in Nigeria but across Africa,” he added.

Public-Private Partnership Driving Innovation

The governor commended the collaboration between MTN, the Lagos State Government, and other stakeholders, noting that the partnership exemplifies the power of synergy between the public and private sectors in driving meaningful progress.

He urged residents to embrace the digital era by downloading the MyLagos App, exploring its features, and fully utilizing its services.

“Together, we can shape a smarter future for our city. Let us remember that innovation is a continuous journey rather than a final destination,” he said.

Revolutionizing Urban Living

Mr. Abdulhakeem Giwa, Manager of MTN Digital Channel Management, described the MyLagos App as a revolutionary tool designed to transform the urban experience in Lagos.

“The app enhances the quality of life by providing real-time solutions and ensuring better, easier navigation for all residents,” Giwa said.

He highlighted that the app serves as a comprehensive platform for essential city information, including locations of places, traffic updates, markets, trending news, tourism and events, job vacancies, nearby markets, transport options, and business listings.

The launch of the MyLagos App marks a significant step in Lagos State’s efforts to leverage technology for improved governance and urban living. By providing residents with easy access to vital services and information, the app aims to enhance the quality of life and position Lagos as a model smart city in Africa.
