Popular Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has recently shared the profound experience of witnessing an "uncanny" and almost "scary" resemblance between his newborn son and his late son, Ifeanyi, who tragically passed away in 2022.

In a poignant revelation during an interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, the "Unavailable" hitmaker opened up about the devastating loss of his first son, Ifeanyi, who died in a drowning accident at the singer's Lagos residence in November 2022. Reflecting on that deeply challenging period, Davido explained how the immense grief led him to step back and prioritize his family and personal well-being.

"That type of loss just makes you want to withdraw," Davido confessed. "I just wanted to chill, focus on my wife, and take care of my family to get my head right."

However, life took an unexpected and joyous turn when, in October 2023, nearly a year after Ifeanyi's passing, Davido and his wife, Chioma, whom he had revealed he "secretly" married months prior, welcomed a set of twins – a boy and a girl. Their union was further celebrated with a grand wedding ceremony in June 2024.

Speaking about the arrival of his twins, Davido shared the striking similarity he observed between his newborn son and the late Ifeanyi. "To come back from that and then be blessed with twins right away – a boy and a girl – it's incredible," he expressed. "And the boy… he looks exactly like my son, Ifeanyi, who passed away. It's actually quite scary. We often look at him and say, 'No, it's really him. He's come back' – it feels that real."

The singer further elaborated on how navigating such profound loss had reshaped his perspective, leading him to offer encouragement and inspiration to others facing their own hardships. He also credited his marriage to Chioma and the widespread success of his 2023 album, "Timeless," with reinforcing his faith, stating, "It further strengthened my belief that God is real."

Reflecting on his journey within the music industry, Davido expressed a sense of fulfillment in seeing his aspirations materialize, having once admired other artists from afar on social media.

Looking ahead, Davido also touched upon his collaborative relationship with American singer Chris Brown, revealing that they have recorded approximately 20 songs together.

When questioned about the possibility of a joint album, Davido affirmed that it was a likely prospect, stating, "We could put out two albums right now. It is going to happen. I'm really happy for Chris; it feels like he's back in his element, especially as he celebrates his 20-year anniversary. I even told him I was meant to be part of his 'Breezy Bowl' tour."

Expanding his creative endeavors beyond music, Davido confirmed his foray into the film industry, announcing his role as an executive producer for both a movie and a series in collaboration with his director, Dammy Twitch. He also shared that work is underway on his own documentary, offering fans a deeper glimpse into his life and career.
