In a recently circulated video, taken from an episode of her television show Mercy’s Menu, the actress clarified that her comments were misunderstood. The viral clip sparked concern among fans after she spoke about a personal health scare that occurred while she was caring for her youngest child.
“I said I had a cancer scare, not cancer,” Johnson-Okojie explained. “It means I had this swelling on my neck and my doctors thought it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroids.”
She further stressed that she is “perfectly fine” and reiterated that the edited clip taken out of context led to unnecessary panic.
The actress recounted undergoing thyroid surgery during a difficult period in her life, particularly while caring for her six-month-old baby at the time. Despite the emotional and physical toll of that experience, she confirmed that the issue was addressed, and her health has since stabilized.
“Thank you so much to all of you who have been calling, sending messages, and praying for me,” she said with gratitude. “But I want to assure everyone that I do not have cancer. The clip was completely misunderstood.”
Johnson-Okojie’s clarification comes as a relief to her fans, many of whom expressed concern and support across social media. Her openness about the health scare has also sparked wider conversations about thyroid health and the importance of medical checks.
The actress continues to thrive in her career and personal life, using her platform to raise awareness and connect with fans in a more personal way through her talk show.
