The festival, whose very essence is captured in its logo depicting a violin against a serene body of water and trees, harmoniously intertwined with a piano keyboard, is a testament to the enduring power and beauty of chamber music.
The evening's musical tapestry will commence with Johannes Brahms's evocative Cello Sonata No. 1 in E minor, Op. 38. This lyrical masterpiece, a foundational pillar of the cello repertoire, will showcase the profound expressiveness of the instrument and the nuanced artistry of the performers. Following this, audiences will be treated to a truly rare and remarkable experience: Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé in a solo piano rendition. This monumental work, typically heard in its shimmering orchestral form, will be masterfully translated to the piano, allowing for an intimate exploration of its vibrant colours and intricate textures. The concert will then reach a thrilling crescendo with an electrifying piano duo featuring Daniel and Alexander Tselyakov. Their combined passion and virtuosity are set to deliver a grand finale that promises to be both exhilarating and deeply moving.
