Music Meets Advocacy: A Dual-Purpose Event
The initiative is organized by House of Structure, a firm led by Abuja-based lawyer Ugochukwu Uneabunso, with Amudi Chioma Felistas serving as technical advisor. The concert is part of a two-pronged program that also includes the Nigerian Music Industry Summit and Showcase, which will take place earlier on the same day.
The summit, themed “The Role of Nigerian Artistes in Promoting Climate Action and Revolutionizing Revenue Generation Channels of the Nigerian Music Industry,” is designed to foster dialogue among music stakeholders. It will address pressing environmental issues and explore sustainable practices within the industry.
"This is not just about entertainment," Uneabunso stated on Sunday. "We are using this platform to bring attention to serious issues such as climate change, while also discussing sustainable ways the music industry can grow and benefit artistes." He added that the evening concert is specifically curated to offer a distinct blend of entertainment and purpose, aiming to provide an "unforgettable experience while also sparking important conversations within the industry."
Bridging Artistry and Activism
Technical Advisor Amudi Chioma Felistas elaborated on the summit’s focus, highlighting its aim to bridge the gap between activism and artistic expression. "The morning session is where we bring experts to the table to look at how Nigerian artistes can do more than entertain, how they can lead climate conversations and drive innovation in revenue creation,” she explained.
The summit will feature keynote speeches and a panel session, providing a platform for in-depth discussions. The evening concert, conversely, promises an engaging lineup of live music and comedy. Felistas emphasized the careful selection of artistes spanning "different generations and genres to ensure everyone in attendance finds something they connect with."
