Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, Natasha Osawaru, has showered affectionate praises on her husband, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, as the Afrobeats icon marked his 50th birthday on Thursday.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Osawaru described the multi-award-winning singer as “the love of my life,” expressing gratitude for the joy and companionship he has brought into her life.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life. You are 50!!!!! Oh wow!!!!!! You spaced me with 20 years and you look younger than I do,” she wrote. “Innocent Ujah Idibia, my husband… words cannot express the joy you’ve brought into my life. My joy is complete with you in it.”

A Union that Made Headlines

Osawaru, who is two decades younger than the celebrated artist, tied the knot with him in April during a private traditional wedding in Benin City. The ceremony, held at the residence of the Esama of Benin, was attended by close relatives and associates, with strict efforts to keep cameras away in order to preserve its intimacy.

Their relationship came to public light earlier in February when 2Baba openly confirmed his romance with the Edo lawmaker, declaring: “Yes, I love her. I want to marry her.” The announcement followed the singer’s separation from actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, his wife of many years.

Golden Jubilee for a Music Legend

2Baba, regarded as one of the pioneers of Afrobeats and a veteran of the Nigerian music industry, turned 50 this week, sparking widespread tributes from fans, colleagues, and admirers. His wife’s glowing words added a deeply personal note to the public celebrations of his golden jubilee.
