Former Big Brother Naija housemate and reality TV star Uriel Oputa has opened up about her evolving perspective on marriage, revealing that recent encounters have made her more cautious about settling down.

In a candid Instagram post, Oputa admitted that she would have embraced marriage without hesitation a few years ago, but her experiences with men since then have reshaped her outlook.

“If you had asked me 5 years ago, even 3 or 4 years ago, ‘Do you want to get married?’ I’d have said absolutely, 100% yes. Ask me now? I’d have to think twice,” she wrote.

According to her, some of the men she has dated displayed negative personality traits she described as “inconsistent, egotistical, narcissistic, and manipulative.” These patterns, she noted, forced her to reconsider her readiness for long-term commitment.

Oputa also added a touch of humor, saying she is mindful of the emotional toll a troubled marriage could take. “And honestly, I’m not sure I want to spend the rest of my life on high blood pressure medication,” she quipped.

Despite her concerns, the fitness enthusiast and singer maintained a hopeful tone, expressing faith that her own marriage story will stand out positively. “But hey, in God we trust. Mine will be different,” she added.

Uriel’s reflections come at a time when conversations around love, relationships, and mental well-being are increasingly resonating with many of her followers, who often look to her for frank, relatable takes on lifestyle and personal growth.
