In a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that the fake page, which uses her photos and identity, has attracted over 2.7 million followers, misleading the public into thinking it is her official account.
According to Ojo, repeated attempts to report the page to Facebook have failed after the impersonator changed its name from her actual identity to “Iyabo Ojo Lovers,” presenting it as a fan page and evading the platform’s review process.
“This video is directed to whoever it is that is impersonating me and using my name. It has 2.7 million followers on Facebook. I have tried to report this account to Facebook. This is not my page. Take my name off this page and my picture… because the next time you will look for this page, it will be gone,” she stated.
The actress expressed her frustration over fake news circulating under her name, noting that numerous fans often message her seeking confirmation on statements she never made. She described the impersonation as an act of “madness” and “greed,” warning the individual to immediately cease using her identity.
Ojo’s public call highlights the growing challenge of social media impersonation, which continues to affect public figures globally, misleading fans and damaging reputations.
