The General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has publicly apologised for the violent scenes that disrupted his team’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter with Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Sunday evening’s match descended into chaos after Shooting Stars netted a dramatic late equaliser, triggering an angry reaction from sections of the home crowd. Spectators stormed the pitch, attacking players, match officials, and security personnel in scenes that drew widespread condemnation across the Nigerian football community.

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment pandemonium erupted, showing fans chasing players and officials off the field as security struggled to regain control.

In a statement released late Sunday on the club’s official social media platforms, Ahmed Musa denounced the violence and expressed regret over the incident. He extended an unreserved apology to Shooting Stars, the match officials, and football supporters nationwide, while taking full responsibility on behalf of the club.

The former Super Eagles captain emphasised that such conduct does not reflect the values of Kano Pillars, assuring that the management will cooperate fully with league authorities in their investigation and take steps to prevent a recurrence.
