British YouTuber and BMX rider Ryan Taylor has opened up about his short-lived engagement to Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
Speaking on the Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer reflected on their whirlwind romance and why it ultimately came to an end. Taylor, who proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 after less than a month of dating, revealed that certain differences in outlook and attitude gradually created distance between them.
According to him, one of the major issues was Cuppy’s alleged reluctance to engage with Nigerians in certain professional settings. “Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” Taylor claimed during the podcast.
He further disclosed that their relationship had no formal agreements, contracts, or non-disclosure arrangements—just mutual trust that eventually unraveled. Despite the breakup, Taylor insisted that he harbored no regrets.
“To be honest, what I got from that was lessons. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. But do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next! I learned that money is not everything, but not having it is,” he said.
Their engagement had sparked excitement across social media when Taylor proposed to Cuppy at a Gumball 3000 rally event in late 2022. However, by mid-2023, observant fans noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, fueling rumors that the relationship had ended.
While DJ Cuppy has remained largely silent about the split, Taylor’s comments have reignited public discussion about their brief but high-profile romance—and the lessons learned when love meets fame and fortune.
