Nigerian singer Chike has stirred conversations online after sharing a cryptic message on social media amid ongoing allegations linking him to the collapsed marriage of media personality Frank Edoho and his estranged wife, Sandra Edoho.

The controversy began after Frank Edoho claimed during a public conversation that he once caught his ex-wife cheating with a musician, although he did not reveal the identity of the artiste involved.

Following the revelation, online speculation intensified, with several social media users alleging that Chike was the unnamed singer connected to the situation. The rumours gained even more traction after controversial online commentator VeryDarkMan released a video analysing the scandal and directly mentioning Chike.

In the video, VeryDarkMan warned that the allegations could negatively affect the singer’s career and public image, particularly because a significant part of his income reportedly comes from performing at weddings and private events.

According to him, married men may begin to feel uncomfortable hiring the singer for events due to fears surrounding the rumours and his perceived closeness to women.

Amid the growing controversy, Chike posted a brief but emotional message on Sunday night that immediately drew attention online.

“Pity my soul!” the singer wrote.

Although Chike did not explain the meaning behind the statement or directly address the allegations, many fans interpreted the post as a subtle reaction to the criticism and online attacks surrounding the rumours.

Supporters of the singer have also argued that the allegations remain unconfirmed and that he should not be condemned based on speculation alone.

Despite the controversy dominating social media discussions, Chike appeared unfazed during a recent public outing at a cinema in Lagos, where he was seen interacting warmly with fans.

Videos circulating online showed the singer signing autographs, posing for photographs, and receiving enthusiastic support from female fans who sang along to his hit song Running To You while taking pictures with him.

The incident has continued to generate mixed reactions online, with some calling for caution against spreading unverified claims, while others continue to debate the implications of the allegations on the singer’s reputation and career.
