Former Miss Nigeria and Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) contestant, Beauty Tukura, has candidly shared the emotional toll she endured following her disqualification from the reality TV show. In a heartfelt interview on the BeyondWithEzinne podcast, Tukura spoke about the deep depression and suicidal thoughts she battled after the public backlash she received.

Tukura, who was disqualified from the show after a series of controversial incidents, revealed that the intense public scrutiny and shame she experienced pushed her into a dark and isolated space. “I was depressed, I feel like my life ended. I was living in a dark room for weeks and in between, I would do therapy. I cried every day. I was thinking of ending it. I almost actually committed suicide,” Tukura admitted.

The former beauty queen described how overwhelming the situation became, to the point where she felt she was being relentlessly “crucified” by the public. “The heat was too much, and personally, I felt like nothing I said was going to make sense because all they wanted to do was crucify me like Jesus. It was very hard,” she said, reflecting on the emotional strain of the ordeal.

The disqualification left her grappling with feelings of shame, especially when it came to facing her parents. “I was too ashamed to see them. I didn’t know how to face them. I was in a very bad place,” Tukura recalled, sharing the extent of her internal struggles during that time.

Despite the immense emotional toll, Tukura credited her parents' unwavering support and the outpouring of love from her fans as key factors that helped her find her way out of that dark period. “I decided to focus on the love. Since then, I’ve always focused on the positive messages,” she shared, explaining how the encouragement from loved ones and well-wishers provided her with the strength to heal and move forward.

Reflecting on the experience, Tukura acknowledged that the aftermath of her disqualification became a turning point in her life. “That was the lowest point of my life, and I’ve decided it will stay that way. There’s no room for such mistakes anymore,” she said, vowing to learn from her past and to keep moving forward with a more positive mindset.
