Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has announced that Moti Gyamlani, its Senior Vice President and Head of Group Function Global Operations, will step down from his role effective January 12, 2026. The company said he will remain with Ericsson for a transition period to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities.

Gyamlani, who joined Ericsson in 2019 and became a member of the Executive Team in 2022, has overseen key operational functions during a period of digital transformation at the telecoms giant. The company said a transition plan is already in motion, with efforts focused on simplifying the Group’s structure and moving functions closer to its core business areas.

Börje Ekholm, Ericsson’s President and Chief Executive Officer, commended Gyamlani for his leadership and contributions to the company’s transformation agenda.

“Moti has done major work in digitally transforming the Company. He has played an important role in simplifying and streamlining our processes and built world-class functions, including in shared services and sourcing,” Ekholm said. “I’m grateful for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavor.”

Reflecting on his time at Ericsson, Gyamlani said he was proud of his achievements and looked forward to new challenges in entrepreneurship.

“After almost seven incredible years at Ericsson, I will now pursue entrepreneurship. It’s been an exceptional learning experience to run core operating functions and drive digital and AI transformation for an iconic company like Ericsson,” he said. “I will be following Ericsson as it continues to execute on the strategy to strengthen its product, market, and operational leadership.”

Gyamlani’s planned departure marks another step in Ericsson’s ongoing organizational restructuring, as the company continues to refine its operations amid industry shifts and a growing focus on efficiency and innovation.
