American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has revealed that discussions are underway for a potential blockbuster clash with former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in 2026.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of his November 14 exhibition bout against Gervonta Davis, Paul confirmed that talks between both camps are ongoing, describing the matchup as a serious possibility despite the clear disparity in size, experience, and pedigree.

“100 per cent it can happen,” Paul said. “Our teams are already talking and in the works to try and make it happen for next year.”

The social media star, who has built a controversial but attention-grabbing boxing career since turning professional, said the prospect of facing Joshua represents the kind of risk that motivates him.

“It would be fun to take on Anthony Joshua after this fight,” Paul noted. “Take a massive risk and a massive challenge and go into a fight where no one thinks I have the slightest chance of winning — that excites me.”

However, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has urged caution, stating that any potential bout with Paul depends on how the American performs against Davis later this month.

“I can’t make that fight until you’ve fought Gervonta Davis in this exhibition,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “If you get chinned by Gervonta Davis, don’t think you’re fighting Anthony Joshua. It’s ridiculous.”

Hearn also disclosed that Joshua’s next official fight is being planned for February 2026, with possible venues including Ghana, Saudi Arabia, or London. A long-anticipated mega bout against Tyson Fury remains in the pipeline for later that year.

Paul, meanwhile, hinted that his ambitions extend beyond exhibition fights, saying a WBC cruiserweight title shot against Badou Jack could also materialize. “I would say it’s very likely. The stars just have to align, and he has a fight coming up and has to win that,” he said.

Joshua last fought in September 2024, when he was stopped inside five rounds by Daniel Dubois, who then held the IBF heavyweight title.

If the proposed Paul–Joshua fight does come to fruition, it would mark one of the most unconventional matchups in modern boxing — a clash between a global entertainment figure and one of Britain’s most decorated heavyweights.
