Her death was confirmed by an X user, #AUNTYMUSE_, who had supported her throughout her treatment journey. Reacting to the news, fellow X user Tabuko, tweeting as swaggsphotos, wrote, “Unfortunately, we lost Aunty Esther. Very Sad!” while #AUNTYMUSE_ added, “May her soul rest in peace.”
AuntieEsther, whose real name was Mensah Omolola, became widely known after publicly rejecting a blood transfusion due to her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness. Despite receiving over N30 million in donations for her treatment, she chose alternative therapies to boost her blood count without transfusion.
The decision sparked national debate, with some questioning the rejection of life-saving medical advice even as public funds supported her treatment, while others defended her right to make healthcare decisions based on religious beliefs.
The fundraising campaign, coordinated by charity advocate Wizarab10, raised N30.7 million as of December 1, 2025. AuntieEsther had expressed gratitude to her supporters, saying, “I appreciate everybody. Thank you, Wizarab10 and the_beardsina. God bless.”
Her passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences on social media and renewed conversations on the intersection of faith, healthcare, and public philanthropy.
