Actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her journey to personal freedom, recounting how she overcame years of struggles with smoking, alcohol addiction, masturbation, and uncontrollable anger. She shared her testimony during a service at Streams of Joy International Church, led by Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) ministry.

The 40-year-old revealed that her smoking habit began at age 13, influenced by her father, and lasted for 27 years. Reflecting on the experience, she urged parents to be mindful of the habits children are exposed to, emphasizing their lasting impact. “I started smoking because my dad was a smoker. Something as little as that habit can inhabit the lives of your children. My body does not ask for it. My body is repelling it. Today, it is broken,” she said.

Dikeh also spoke candidly about her battles with alcohol, chronic masturbation, recurring sexual dreams she attributed to spiritual oppression since childhood, and what she described as “demonic anger” that negatively affected her relationships and life. “I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation, too. I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in the dream ever since I was a child,” she said.

The actress credited persistent prayer and spiritual intervention through NSPPD with helping her achieve lasting peace. She recounted a pivotal moment at the NSPPD Ghana Prayer Conference, explaining that the oppressive forces tormenting her dreams “ran away.” “I realised the weak man who held me captive all my years in my dream ran away,” she said.

At 40, Dikeh declared she is experiencing true peace for the first time. She described how her body now actively rejects cigarettes and is no longer drawn to them. “I am 40 years old, and I can tell you I have never known peace until now. I am living in it,” she said.

Dikeh admitted she initially hesitated to share her story publicly due to concerns about her image but ultimately chose transparency to honor God. “The devil tried to tell me that I was supposed to protect my image. But I told myself, what image? The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away,” she concluded.

Her testimony serves as a candid reflection on overcoming personal and spiritual challenges, emphasizing resilience, faith, and the pursuit of genuine peace.
