A fresh update from the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart has seen Nigerian singer Asake further consolidate his place in the genre’s history, extending his record as the artiste with the highest number of entries on the chart.
The Mr Money crooner has now logged a total of 60 entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, following the rise of his collaborative track with Wizkid, Jogodo, which peaked at number four this week. The feat reinforces Asake’s sustained commercial presence and influence on the global Afrobeats scene.
Meanwhile, South African star Tyla continues to dominate the chart, as her song Channel retains the number-one position for another week. Tyla, who was recently named the Top Afrobeats Artist of 2025, has maintained a strong hold on the chart since her global breakthrough.
Her earlier hit, Water, remains a historic release on the Billboard Afrobeats chart, having set the record for the longest-running number-one song with an impressive 55-week reign at the top.
In a related development, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy also recorded a significant Billboard milestone this week. The Grammy-winning artist earned his first-ever top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 through his feature on Gunna’s track WGFT. The song climbed to a new peak of number 16, aided by the release of a remix featuring Chris Brown.
With the achievement, Burna Boy has now become the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 in five consecutive years, spanning from 2021 to 2025, further underlining his consistent global impact.
Together, the latest chart performances highlight the growing dominance of African artists across major international music platforms.
