The initiative, tagged “We Got You,” runs from January 1 to February 28, 2026, and allows customers who pay for their current DStv subscription in full to enjoy an automatic upgrade to the next higher package for the duration of the offer.
The campaign is positioned as a customer appreciation drive, particularly targeted at the challenges typically associated with the start of the year, including school resumption expenses, tighter household budgets, and increased financial obligations. Through the promotion, subscribers gain access to a wider range of content, including additional entertainment channels, movies, sports, children’s programming, local productions, and international shows.
Speaking on the campaign, the Executive Head of Marketing, West Africa, MultiChoice, Tope Oshunkeye, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to rewarding customer loyalty and enhancing viewer experience.
“We want our customers to step into the year feeling valued. When you buy your package, we upgrade you because you deserve more. This is our way of bringing extra excitement, choice and convenience into your home,” Oshunkeye said.
According to DStv, the offer is open to existing active subscribers, customers who reconnect their decoders, as well as new subscribers who join the platform within the promotional window.
Details of the upgrade structure show that DStv Yanga customers will be moved to DStv Confam, Confam subscribers will receive DStv Compact, Compact customers will be upgraded to Compact Plus, while Compact Plus subscribers will enjoy access to DStv Premium during the campaign period.
MultiChoice clarified that the upgrade applies only to decoder viewing and does not alter the customer’s original subscription plan. Once the promotion ends on February 28, subscribers will automatically revert to their initial packages.
The company said the campaign is part of its broader strategy to deliver added value, retain subscribers, and strengthen engagement across its customer base at the start of the year.
