Etihad Airways has announced a historic expansion of its European network with the launch of nonstop flights to Luxembourg, making it the first airline from the Middle East to serve the country. Services will commence on 29 October 2026, offering travellers a direct link between Luxembourg and Abu Dhabi for the first time.

The new route responds to growing demand from travellers across Luxembourg, the Benelux region, France, and Germany seeking convenient access to the UAE’s capital. Flights will operate to Luxembourg Airport (LUX) three times weekly using Etihad’s state-of-the-art A321LR aircraft, featuring the airline’s acclaimed three-class cabin.

The A321LR offers First Suites and lie-flat Business seats with direct aisle access, alongside next-generation Economy seats with generous legroom, 4K touchscreen entertainment, Bluetooth connectivity, and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the aircraft. Etihad said the aircraft enables the airline to serve markets that were previously unserved while providing a premium travel experience.

Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad Airways CEO, described the route as “more than connectivity” and said it would “build new bridges between Europe and the UAE, unlocking opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange.” He added that Luxembourg travellers can now enjoy direct access to Abu Dhabi’s world-class attractions, luxury hotels, and authentic Arabian experiences, along with seamless onward connections across Etihad’s global network.

The new service targets both business and leisure travellers. Luxembourg’s role as a European financial hub makes the route attractive for corporate travel, while leisure passengers can explore Abu Dhabi’s cultural and entertainment offerings, including the Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island attractions, and the emirate’s beaches and desert landscapes.

In addition, passengers from Abu Dhabi and Etihad’s broader network can discover Luxembourg’s historic charm, fairytale castles, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town, and scenic valleys, blending heritage with modern sophistication.

The Luxembourg service strengthens Etihad’s connectivity across Europe and complements its growing network, enabling seamless onward travel through Abu Dhabi to destinations in Asia and beyond, including Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and India.

Flights are now on sale. Further details are available on etihad.com.
