According to Adeogun, the graduating class comprises 4,785 regular undergraduate students and 356 postgraduate students across various programmes. He noted that the convocation would celebrate academic excellence, institutional growth and the impact of recent government interventions in the education sector.

Providing a breakdown of the undergraduate results, Adeogun said 40 students graduated with First Class Honours, 1,466 earned Second Class Upper Division, 2,768 obtained Second Class Lower Division, 492 finished with Third Class degrees, while 19 students earned Pass degrees.

On academic expansion, the Vice-Chancellor announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) had approved 12 new undergraduate programmes and four doctoral programmes for the institution. Adeogun also revealed that the university’s 20th anniversary lecture, initially slated for November last year, would now be delivered on Wednesday as part of the convocation activities. The lecture will be presented by the Minister of Education, Dr. Moruf Alausa.

He further noted that TASUED currently enjoys 100 per cent accreditation from the NUC and continues to review its curricula to meet global standards, with strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), digital pedagogy, entrepreneurship and inclusive education.

The Vice-Chancellor said the adoption of the institution by the Federal Government had strengthened its position within the national framework for teacher education, while also accelerating infrastructural development. He cited recent investments in lecture theatres, laboratories, learning facilities and ICT infrastructure to support e-learning, virtual instruction and digital administration.

Adeogun added that the university’s alumni and students continue to make international impact. He disclosed that one year after an alumnus, Dr. Kayode Adewale, was named among the Top 50 Teachers in the World, a postgraduate student of the university, Adeola Olufunke Akinsulure, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Technology, has emerged as one of the top 10 finalists in a global teaching recognition programme.
