With a total box office revenue of ₦950,781,820, the 2025 Nollywood dramedy ranked as the second-highest-grossing film of the weekend and is now the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The milestone was announced late Monday by the film’s official distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, marking a significant commercial achievement for the Nigerian film industry.
Directed and produced by Toyin Abraham, Oversabi Aunty tells the story of Toun, a self-righteous church usher obsessed with correcting the lives of those around her. Nicknamed “Oversabi Aunty,” she positions herself as the moral compass of her community while concealing deep emotional neglect within her own household.
Reacting to the achievement, the production team shared a celebratory message:
“Thank you our Oversabi West Africans 🤭🥳

Oversabi Aunty hits ₦950,781,820 at the box office and counting, maintaining its position as one of the top two box office titles of the weekend and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time.
We are only able to do this because of you. Thank you so much 💜
