A Nigerian-developed social media tracking and monetisation platform, Kluoto, is recording significant growth in the United Kingdom, marking a key milestone in its ambitions to expand beyond Africa.
Founded by Nigerian tech entrepreneur Chukwuemeka Martins Osuofia, Kluoto is currently based in the UK, where it now draws the majority of its user traffic. Plans are also underway to extend the platform’s operations to the United States.
Speaking recently on Lagos Television, Osuofia described the app as a tool designed to empower youths, businesses, and content creators by offering financial rewards largely unavailable on conventional social media platforms.
“Kluoto was built with a strong economic focus,” Osuofia explained. “It aims to give users tangible value for the time and engagement they invest online, while also contributing to Nigeria’s broader digital economy.”
Nigerian Users Benefit from Unique Features
According to Osuofia, Nigerian users enjoy exclusive advantages on the platform. One standout feature is the hourly earning option, introduced to ensure local content creators are compensated for the time they spend engaging with content.
Unlike platforms such as YouTube, which require users to meet specific thresholds before monetisation begins, Kluoto allows instant earnings as users interact with posts, videos, and other content.
Osuofia also stated that the company is open to granting exclusivity to its Nigerian user base, provided it receives the necessary institutional and ecosystem support to make such a move sustainable.
Focus on Content Integrity
Content regulation remains a priority for the Kluoto development team, especially amid the rising spread of deepfake materials and misinformation online. Measures have been implemented to ensure that content shared on the platform is authentic and trustworthy.
Rebrand and New Tracking Feature
Kluoto, which was registered in Nigeria last year, is currently in its first year of operations in the country. Recently, the company unveiled a new brand identity alongside a tracking feature that enables users to monitor engagement and earnings in real time.
In a statement signed by the company’s Social Media Manager, Didi Edem, the firm said the rebrand marks a new phase in its mission to redefine how users interact, create content, and earn online.
The statement added that the tracking dashboard offers users insights into engagement, allowing them to see how consistency on the platform translates into financial rewards. As Kluoto gains momentum, it is positioning itself not only as an app but as a movement centred on African creators, bridging local opportunities with global reach.
