Grief continues to ripple through Nollywood as actor Rotimi Salami publicly mourns the loss of his colleague and close friend, Allwell Ademola, describing her passing as deeply painful and difficult to accept.
Salami took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video clip featuring moments he spent with the late actress. In his post, he expressed disbelief over her death, writing, “Can’t believe all I am left with are videos, memories, and your works.”
The actor, who was known to share a strong personal and professional bond with Ademola, had earlier spoken about the emotional toll of her passing. He prayed against untimely deaths within the movie industry and acknowledged that although moving forward has been challenging, the support of family, friends, and fans has helped him cope.
Ademola reportedly passed away on December 27 after suffering a heart attack at her residence. News of her death was confirmed by several colleagues in the industry, including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko, who each paid tribute to her on social media.
In honour of the late actress, a service of songs and candlelight procession was organised, drawing colleagues, friends, and admirers who gathered to celebrate her life and contributions to the film industry. She was subsequently laid to rest.
Breaking his silence days after her burial, Salami admitted that no amount of grieving could bring her back, revealing how deeply the loss has affected him. He also shared a personal tradition they had maintained for five consecutive years — spending New Year’s celebrations together in prayer and shared wishes — a ritual that was heartbreakingly absent this year.
As tributes continue to pour in, Ademola is remembered not only for her body of work but also for the close relationships she nurtured within Nollywood.
