Nigeria’s Super Falconets secured their place in the final round of qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a 2–1 victory over Senegal women's national under-20 football team in Dakar on Saturday.

The second-leg triumph at the Stade Lat Dior completed a 3–1 aggregate win for the Nigerian side, who had claimed a narrow 1–0 advantage in the first leg in Abeokuta last weekend.

Coached by Moses Aduku, the Falconets delivered a composed performance on hostile ground, striking once in each half to put the tie beyond their West African rivals.

Chinaza Kindness Ifeanyi opened the scoring in the 18th minute, rising above the Senegalese defence to power home a header from a well-delivered cross. The early goal effectively neutralised the hosts’ hopes of overturning the first-leg deficit.

Nigeria doubled their advantage in the 68th minute, again capitalising on aerial strength. A corner kick delivery slipped past a Senegal defender, allowing Precious Oscar to guide a downward header beyond the goalkeeper and extend Nigeria’s aggregate cushion to three goals.

Senegal responded through Pene Ngaye with 14 minutes remaining, reducing the deficit on the day. However, the home side were unable to mount a late comeback as Nigeria held firm to seal progression.

With the result, the Falconets advance to the final qualifying round, where they will face Malawi women's national under-20 football team for a place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. Four African nations will ultimately secure tickets to the tournament.

Nigeria, one of Africa’s most consistent performers at youth level, now move a step closer to extending their record of appearances on the global stage.
