The United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has launched a new Aggregator Sales Structure designed to strengthen partnerships and expand financial inclusion through its RedPay POS and UBAMONI Agency Banking network.
The multi-benefit structure was unveiled at the inaugural UBA Aggregator Engagement Session held at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos on Tuesday. The event, themed “POS-itive Impact: Connecting Agents, Merchants, and Customers,” brought together industry aggregators, POS partners, and network managers to align strategies for scaling UBA’s agency banking ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, UBA’s Executive Director Designate, Digital Banking, Emmanuel Lamptey, described the session as a key milestone in expanding access to financial services across Nigeria.
“Today’s session marks a pivotal step in our collective journey to democratise financial access in Nigeria,” Lamptey said. “By bringing together our valued aggregators and partners, we are strengthening the ecosystem that connects UBA directly to communities and ensuring that reliable financial services are within everyone’s reach.”
UBA’s Head of Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the strategic importance of the new structure.
“Our aggregators are fundamental to realising our ambition of building Africa’s most impactful digital collections network,” Fashola said. “This structured framework is designed to be scalable, transparent, and mutually rewarding, empowering our partners with the technology and support needed to drive agent productivity and serve underserved communities effectively.”
For aggregators, the framework provides a structured pathway to onboard and manage agents within UBA’s network, access incentives and commissions, and leverage a dedicated Aggregator Admin Portal for real-time performance visibility.
UBA’s Head of Agency Banking, Adetunji Iyiola, said the initiative reinforces the bank’s commitment to improving collaboration across its network.
“This rollout is about creating superior value for every stakeholder and enabling better service delivery to customers while ensuring our partners have the tools and incentives to thrive,” Iyiola said. “It reinforces our promise to deliver essential banking services exactly where they are needed most.”
The introduction of the aggregator structure further positions UBA as a leader in digital financial innovation, as it continues to develop solutions aimed at closing the inclusion gap and driving economic empowerment across Africa.
