The Bank Directors Association of Nigeria (BDAN) has appointed Dr. Oluwayemisi Olorunshola as its new Chairman, following the retirement of Mustafa Chike-Obi at the conclusion of his tenure. Dr. Olorunshola brings more than 25 years of cumulative experience spanning business leadership, supply chain management, and corporate governance. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wema Bank Plc, a role that has honed her expertise in financial oversight, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Her professional background also includes over 15 years of experience in multinational organisations, coupled with more than a decade as a business manager. During this period, she has developed deep expertise in business and production planning, procurement, distribution, import and export operations, and logistics services. These skills are expected to strengthen BDAN’s capacity to guide governance standards across Nigeria’s financial institutions.

Dr. Olorunshola was appointed to the BDAN Board as a director in January 2023, and in her short tenure, she has been recognised for her active engagement and dedication to advancing the association’s goals.
