The 2026 Producers Guild Awards celebrated the year’s top cinematic and television achievements on Saturday, with One Battle After Another continuing its impressive streak by taking home the night’s top honor: the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures Academy Award for Best Picture due to similarities in voting structure and membership between the PGA and the Academy, saw One Battle After Another triumph over fellow nominees including Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, Sinners, Train Dreams, and Weapons.
Director Paul Thomas Anderson used his acceptance speech to praise the efforts of Warner Bros.’ Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, who played key roles in shepherding One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Weapons to the screen. Anderson noted their work in protecting the filmmakers and navigating the complexities of production and distribution:
“You’ve done an incredible job protecting us… None of us could have done this without the two of you and the entire team around you. Long may you wave, whatever the future holds — one battle after another.”

The evening featured awards across 10 competitive categories, alongside honors for animated motion pictures and a range of television programming. Notable winners included KPop Demon Hunters, The Pitt, The Studio, My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Four awards were presented prior to the main ceremony, recognizing Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Sesame Street, Adolescence: The Making of Adolescence, and The Wizard of Oz. Special awards honored industry veterans: Amy Pascal received the David O. Selznick Award, Jason Blum earned the Milestone Award, and Mara Brock Akil was presented the Norman Lear Award.

PGA executive director Susan Sprung opened the ceremony with remarks acknowledging recent global events in the Middle East and ongoing industry developments, including the Paramount acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Special presentations underscored both the art and craft of producing. Ralph Farquhar presented Brock Akil’s award, during which she reflected on her three-decade career navigating Hollywood systems not originally designed for her. Jason Blum, introduced by Barry Diller, emphasized the importance of human creativity over algorithmic prediction, citing the success of Heated Rivalry as an example.
The night closed with Gerwig presenting Pascal her special honor, celebrating her resilience and ingenuity. Pascal’s humorous and candid acceptance highlighted the challenges of producing in Hollywood, underscoring the dedication and perseverance required to succeed in the industry.
The 2026 PGA Awards reaffirmed the crucial role of producers in shaping film and television, blending recognition for blockbuster hits with acknowledgment of innovation, risk-taking, and the human stories behind the cameras.
