Popular Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy, has dismissed circulating reports claiming that a woman who accused him of rape has been sentenced to six years in prison.

The reports, which spread on social media on Thursday, March 5, alleged that a young woman with the X (formerly Twitter) handle @chubbiediva had been convicted and jailed after being arraigned for falsely accusing the singer of rape and abuse of a minor.

Reacting to the claims, the former member of P-Square described the information as “fake news.” The singer made the clarification through a post shared on his Instagram Stories, where he refuted the viral report about the alleged prison sentence.

The controversy dates back to September 23, 2025, when the X user made the allegations while reacting to a birthday post celebrating the singer’s wife, Ifeoma Okoye.

At the time, another X user had accused Okoye of cheating on his former wife, Anita Okoye, with their maid. In response, @chubbiediva alleged that the singer had raped or coerced the maid and claimed that he later sent his wife and sister-in-law out of the house following the incident.

Okoye strongly denied the accusations, maintaining that the claims were false and stating that he would pursue legal action against the accuser.
