Innocent Idibia Expresses Optimism About Nigeria’s Future, Commits to Promoting Positive Change.

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has ignited discussions after asserting that Nigeria is currently in a better state than in previous years.

Speaking in a recent interview on Wazobia TV, the award-winning singer expressed optimism about the country’s progress, despite ongoing social and political challenges.

When host Yaw noted that issues highlighted in 2Baba’s classic track “E Be Like Say” seem to be resurfacing in the current political climate, the veteran artist acknowledged the observation but maintained a positive outlook.

“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it,” 2Baba said, highlighting what he sees as tangible improvements over time.

The singer also revealed his personal commitment to promoting Nigeria’s image, describing himself as a self-appointed ambassador for the nation.

“I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria… an ambassador everywhere. I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere,” he said, adding that he plans to continue using his platform to inspire positive change.

“It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand,” 2Baba explained.

Clarifying his stance on politics, he noted that while he once participated in a political campaign, he has no intention of running for office. Instead, he prefers to operate independently, using his voice and influence to advocate for nation-building.

Known for his socially conscious music and outspoken advocacy on governance, 2Baba has maintained a reputation for addressing national issues throughout his two-decade career. His latest remarks have sparked mixed reactions across social media, with fans and critics weighing in on his assessment of the country’s progress.
