Mrs. Deborah Mbara, a cancer survivor and make-up artist, has spoken out after the controversial relationship expert Blessing CEO was accused of falsifying a medical report to support claims of stage 4 breast cancer.
The revelations come shortly after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) called for the arrest of Blessing for allegedly altering the medical report of a cancer patient.
According to reports, Blessing CEO had shared a medical document purportedly from Xinus Medical Diagnostics, signed by consultant pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe, to substantiate her claims while soliciting financial support from the public. Xinus Medical Diagnostics later stated that the report had been issued to Deborah Mbara in May 2025 and accused Blessing of modifying it.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Deborah Mbara recounted how Blessing CEO had approached her privately to request a copy of her medical report for comparison.
“Sometime last year, Blessing CEO was in Asaba, and I was her makeup artist. Fast forward to last week, when she started crying that she had cancer and sold off her properties. My friend reached out to her to check on her. We even got a doctor on the call to help educate and encourage her,” Mbara said.
She added, “Then she said, ‘Zazi, can you just please help me send the report of when you were diagnosed so I could compare it with the one my doctor gave to me.’ I said, ‘OK, no problem.’ Only to see it on the Internet on Friday that it was my result that she doctored to back up the nonsense and money people were donating to her.”
Mbara described Blessing’s actions as deceitful and manipulative, noting that the woman had approached her family for assistance despite claiming to have no prior connection with them.
“She said she doesn’t know me and has never spoken to any of my family. But she was in Asaba on Monday to beg my husband and my family. My husband told her to tender a public apology on social media and confess how everything happened. I thought I was helping someone in need, not knowing she had a different agenda. This is evil,” she said.
The incident has drawn widespread criticism on social media, highlighting concerns about the misuse of personal medical information and online fundraising fraud.
