Mo’Afrique Moves Into Mass Production Fashion Market With Launch of “Modish” and New Garment Factory.

Mo’Afrique is entering a new phase of growth with a strategic expansion into large-scale apparel manufacturing, unveiling a new mass-market fashion brand, Modish, alongside plans for a dedicated garment production facility. The dual rollout, scheduled for official launch on 26 April 2026, signals the company’s shift from a primarily design-led fashion house into an industrial-scale producer serving institutional and corporate demand across Africa.

The development marks a significant pivot for the brand, which has built its identity since 2016 on blending African heritage with contemporary fashion aesthetics. With this expansion, Mo’Afrique aims to translate its design expertise into a structured manufacturing model capable of delivering consistent, high-volume output without compromising quality or style.

At the centre of the new strategy is Modish, a subsidiary brand positioned to bridge the gap between premium design sensibilities and scalable production. The label is tailored specifically for corporate organisations, public institutions, and workforce-heavy sectors requiring uniformity, durability, and professional styling at scale.

The debut collection, Modish Formals, will focus on corporate wear, offering tailored apparel designed for mass production. The company says the line is intended to balance refined aesthetics with industrial efficiency, meeting the rising demand for standardized yet stylish workwear across both public and private sectors.

Alongside the brand launch, Mo’Afrique will commission a garment manufacturing facility that will serve as the operational backbone of its expansion. The factory is expected to produce uniforms for military and paramilitary agencies, corporate bodies, and other institutional clients, strengthening local capacity in Nigeria’s textile and apparel value chain.

Company officials describe the facility as a critical step toward scaling domestic production while reducing reliance on fragmented supply chains. It is also expected to enhance the company’s ability to fulfil large contracts and respond to bulk procurement needs more efficiently.

Speaking on the expansion, Chief Executive Officer of Modish Formals, Omobolanle Olawole, said the decision reflects sustained demand from corporate clients seeking more structured and scalable clothing solutions.

She noted that while bespoke fashion remains important, many organisations now require consistent, high-quality garments that can be produced in volume and aligned with corporate identity standards.

Positioned under the M3 Group, Modish will combine design innovation with production efficiency, aiming to establish a strong foothold in Nigeria’s expanding bulk garment manufacturing sector.

Industry observers view the move as part of a broader trend of African fashion brands transitioning into industrial production models, as demand grows for locally manufactured uniforms and institutional apparel. For Mo’Afrique, the expansion represents not only business diversification but also a deeper push into strengthening regional manufacturing capacity.

With its upcoming launch, the company is signalling an ambition to evolve from a boutique-oriented fashion label into a key player in Africa’s industrial textile and apparel ecosystem, while maintaining its core emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, and design identity.
