Popular Nigerian streamer and entertainer Carter Efe has publicly complained about a delay in receiving the ₦50 million prize promised after his victory in a celebrity boxing event.

The controversy follows a widely discussed celebrity bout in which Carter Efe defeated singer Portable on Friday, securing what was announced as a ₦50 million reward for the winner.

However, days after the fight, Carter Efe says he is still waiting for payment from the event organisers, sparking fresh debate around the credibility and transparency of celebrity boxing promotions in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

In a video shared on social media, the content creator expressed frustration over the delay, insisting he put in significant effort during the match and expected prompt payment.

“Dem never give me my money oo. I never see N50 million ooo. I nearly die for that fight, I never see the N50 million. Make dem pay me N50 oo,” he lamented.

Portable Alleges Match Was “Scripted”

Following his defeat, Portable also reacted publicly, alleging irregularities in the fight outcome. He suggested that the judges’ decision favouring Carter Efe may have been influenced by the organisers.

According to him, the result was allegedly designed to avoid paying out large betting stakes placed by fans who had wagered on his victory.

His claims have added another layer of controversy to the event, though no official evidence has been presented to support the allegations.

Growing Scrutiny on Celebrity Boxing Events

The dispute has reignited questions about the organisation and financial transparency of celebrity boxing exhibitions, which have become increasingly popular in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

While such events often attract significant attention and online engagement, concerns have occasionally been raised about contract enforcement, prize distribution, and regulatory oversight.

For now, Carter Efe maintains that he fulfilled his part of the agreement and is simply demanding what was publicly promised.

The organisers of the event have not yet issued an official response regarding the payment delay or the allegations raised by both participants.
