Fans who gathered at a Lagos venue for a highly anticipated performance were left disappointed after Grammy-nominated artist Davido failed to appear at a scheduled club appearance on Sunday night.

The singer was billed to headline an event alongside rapper Zlatan Ibile at Secret Place in Ikate Elegushi as part of its fifth anniversary celebration. However, despite expectations and crowd buildup, Davido did not show up, prompting confusion at the venue and reactions across social media.

Addressing the situation a day later via Instagram Stories, Davido explained that unexpected logistical challenges disrupted his travel arrangements, preventing him from making it to the event.

“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he said.

The singer attributed the disruption to difficulties in sourcing aviation fuel, which affected his ability to travel as planned. He linked the situation to broader global instability, suggesting that international conflicts are increasingly influencing operational logistics, including flight availability and fuel access.

Davido expressed regret over the missed performance and directly apologised to fans who turned out for the show.

“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon,” he wrote, assuring supporters that a replacement appearance would be arranged.

He also acknowledged the event organisers, congratulating them on the milestone celebration and reaffirming his intention to honour a future engagement.

The incident reflects growing concerns within the aviation and entertainment sectors over fuel supply constraints, with industry operators increasingly reporting challenges tied to pricing volatility and distribution bottlenecks. These disruptions have, in some cases, begun to affect event logistics and scheduled performances across major cities.

While disappointing for attendees, Davido’s promise of a rescheduled performance has offered some reassurance to fans anticipating his return to the Lagos stage.
