The Norwegian forward, widely regarded as one of the most prolific goalscorers in modern football, will lend his voice to the animated feature inspired by Nordic mythology and warrior folklore. The casting has been described by producers as an inspired fit, given Haaland’s on-field reputation for power, speed, and relentless attacking instincts.
The announcement was confirmed by the film’s producers at the Cannes Film Festival, where they also revealed that the project is being directed by fellow Norwegian filmmaker Harald Zwart, known for “The Karate Kid”.
Haaland has often been compared to a “marauding Viking” due to his physical dominance and record-breaking scoring pace, including becoming the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goals.
The upcoming children’s adventure film is set in a fantastical world featuring “fearless warrior girls, icy fjords, and Silk Road mythology,” blending Scandinavian cultural elements with broader historical fantasy themes.
The film is scheduled for release on Christmas Day, positioning it as a festive family offering with a strong Nordic identity at its core.
