The launch, announced as the group nears its fifth anniversary, underscores what the company describes as five years of rethinking insurance through technology, customer-focused design, and service innovation.
Positioned as a first in Nigeria’s insurance industry, Prince AI is designed as a multi-language generative assistant capable of interacting with customers in real time. The company says it is the first insurer in the country to deploy such a system at scale, aiming to redefine how users engage with insurance products and services.
According to Heirs Insurance, the assistant is not limited to answering basic questions. It can respond to enquiries about insurance products, explain coverage options, help customers evaluate their needs, and guide them toward suitable policies based on their circumstances. It also supports transactions such as policy purchases, renewals, and claims initiation and tracking.
One of its most notable features is language accessibility. Prince AI supports multiple local and international languages, including English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese, among others. The goal, the company says, is to remove language barriers that often limit financial inclusion and insurance adoption.
Speaking on the development, Peace Okhianmhense-Philips, Chief Digital Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, framed the innovation as both a technological and customer experience shift.
“Prince AI represents the next phase of our digital evolution. By embedding generative AI into our customer experience, we are not only improving speed and efficiency but also humanising insurance.”
She added:
“This innovation allows us to connect more meaningfully with our customers, anticipate their needs, and deliver support that is instant, intelligent, and accessible.”
The company explained that Prince AI is built on adaptive intelligence, meaning it learns and improves through continuous interaction, refining the relevance and accuracy of its responses over time. However, it also emphasized that human agents remain an essential part of the system, especially for complex or sensitive cases requiring personal guidance.
Beyond automation, customers can escalate conversations to trained representatives when necessary, creating a hybrid model that blends AI efficiency with human judgment and empathy.
The assistant is deployed across multiple digital channels, including WhatsApp, the SimpleLife mobile app, and the company’s website, reflecting a broader strategy to meet users wherever they already interact digitally.
Heirs Holdings, the parent group behind Heirs Insurance, describes the insurer as part of its wider mission to deepen financial inclusion across Africa. The group operates across 24 countries and multiple continents, with investments spanning sectors including financial services, energy, and healthcare.
Within Nigeria’s evolving insurance landscape, Heirs Insurance Group—which includes Heirs General Insurance Limited, Heirs Life Assurance Limited, and Heirs Insurance Brokers—is positioning itself as a key player in the shift toward digital-first insurance distribution.
The introduction of Prince AI reflects a broader trend in financial services where artificial intelligence is increasingly used not only for efficiency but also to expand access, simplify complex products, and engage previously underserved customer segments.
