In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National President, Bolaji Oladeji, the association said it would continue to leverage the influence and network of its members to strengthen the university’s standing as Nigeria’s premier university of education.
The alumni expressed “heartfelt joy and satisfaction” over Oladipo’s emergence as the 6th substantive and 3rd indigenous Vice-Chancellor, describing his appointment as timely and well-deserved.
According to the statement, the development signals “a new beginning of greatness” for the institution, with expectations of renewed focus on innovation, academic excellence, and institutional growth.
The association particularly highlighted Oladipo’s track record, noting that his years of service within the university system position him well to lead at a critical time.
“We are particularly excited that our new VC is a man of innovation and proven commitment to advancing the university’s excellence,” the statement read.
“It is, therefore, delightful that this appointment has come at a most auspicious time. The association has also carefully considered the expectations of its members, stakeholders, and the broader university community, concluding that this transition presents an opportunity for strategic collaboration through purposeful leadership to further the University’s development.”
Reaffirming its role as a key stakeholder, the alumni body pledged continued support for initiatives that would enhance academic standards, staff welfare, infrastructure, and community engagement.
“The association offers the assurance of its continued support as a strategic stakeholder and partner in this collective pursuit of building a university grounded in academic excellence, strong pedigree, community service, staff welfare, and infrastructural development,” it added.
“Once again, we extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Oladipo on his well-deserved appointment as the 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor of TASUED, even as he formally resumes office today with the determination to further take our dear university to higher heights.”
Professor Oladipo’s five-year tenure was approved by the university’s Governing Council on April 21, 2026, following what was described as a rigorous four-month selection process.
Before his appointment, he held several strategic positions within the university, including Director of Research and External Relations, Dean of the College of Specialized and Professional Education, as well as Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance—roles that underscore his administrative experience and familiarity with the institution’s academic framework.
