Actor Yul Edochie has publicly reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that his political position is based on what he describes as divine instruction.

Speaking during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the Nollywood actor said his political choices have consistently been shaped by spiritual direction, and that he believes this same guidance continues to point him toward supporting Tinubu.

“Because I want to support him and God — I have said it before in an interview — God has always shown me who to support, and he keeps showing me Tinubu, and I am going to stand by him,” he said.

Edochie went further to suggest that his political convictions are rooted in personal spiritual experience rather than public consensus or external persuasion. When asked whether he believed God was involved in political outcomes, he responded by distinguishing between his personal experience and others’ beliefs.

“I don’t know if he is involved on your side, but he is involved in mine; he showed me where to go,” he said.

The actor, known for his outspoken political views, has remained one of the more visible celebrity supporters of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). His repeated endorsements have often sparked heated reactions on social media, where his statements regularly draw both support and criticism.

While celebrity political alignment is not unusual in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape, Edochie’s framing of his support as divinely guided has further intensified public discussion around the intersection of faith, influence, and electoral politics.
