The round brings Airwallex’s cumulative funding to $1.8 billion as of June, according to figures published on its website. The company continues to position itself as a major player in cross-border financial infrastructure, serving hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide.
Investor Confidence Builds as Global Expansion Accelerates
The funding round was led by prominent venture and institutional investors including Addition, T. Rowe Price, and Hummingbird, alongside other backers.
With this latest raise, Airwallex is doubling down on its global footprint while expanding its technology stack into next-generation financial tools powered by AI.
“The investment will help Airwallex accelerate product development across autonomous finance and agentic commerce,” the fintech firm said.
New Products Target Automation and Consumer Finance
Alongside the funding announcement, Airwallex introduced two new offerings: a platform designed to automate bookkeeping and regulatory compliance for businesses, and a consumer-facing digital wallet aimed at broadening its reach beyond enterprise customers.
These additions reflect a broader push into end-to-end financial infrastructure, combining payments, compliance, and consumer financial services under one ecosystem.
Strategic Acquisitions and Rapid Growth Momentum
Earlier in the year, Airwallex acquired South Korea’s Paynuri, securing local payments licensing and foreign-exchange registration—moves that allow the company to operate more directly within the Korean market.
The company reported strong performance metrics in March, reaching $1.3 billion in annualised revenue, a 74% year-on-year increase. Transaction volumes also surged, surpassing $287 billion annually—more than double the previous year.
A Global Fintech Scaling Across Continents
Founded in Melbourne in 2015, Airwallex is now co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore. The company says it holds more than 85 financial licenses across multiple regions and serves over 676,000 businesses globally, reinforcing its position as one of the more established players in cross-border fintech infrastructure.
