Speaking during the June 29 episode of the Louis Theroux Podcast, Delevingne said Depp had misunderstood the close friendship she shared with Heard at the time, suggesting that his allegations were influenced by jealousy.
The rumours gained widespread attention during the highly publicised legal battle between Depp and Heard, when claims surfaced that Delevingne had been involved in a relationship with Heard during the couple's marriage.
Responding to the allegations for the first time, Delevingne insisted there was no romantic or sexual relationship between them while Heard and Depp were still together.
“I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. Later, after they divorced, it had [happened], I suppose. Heard and I were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, we were entangled,” she told Louis Theroux.
Her comments clarify that while she and Heard later became romantically involved after the actress's divorce from Depp, there was no affair during the marriage, contrary to the allegations that circulated at the time.
The revelation comes years after Depp and Heard's contentious legal disputes attracted global attention, with several aspects of their personal lives becoming subjects of intense public scrutiny and speculation.
Delevingne's latest remarks provide her first direct response to the affair claims, offering her account of events and seeking to distinguish the nature and timeline of her relationship with Heard.
