Key players in Lagos State's electricity sector have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and accelerating reforms aimed at delivering more reliable power to residents and businesses across the state.

The commitment was highlighted during a strategic engagement convened by the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC), Mrs. Temitope George, as part of ongoing efforts to advance the state's roadmap towards achieving round-the-clock electricity supply.

Among those in attendance were senior industry stakeholders, including representatives of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and the Managing Director of Ikeja Electric, Mrs. Folake Soetan.

The meeting provided a platform for regulators and electricity distribution companies to align on critical priorities for the sector, discuss ongoing reform initiatives, and explore practical measures for improving service delivery to electricity consumers across Lagos.

According to LASERC, the engagement forms part of broader efforts to drive sustainable improvements within the state's power sector, following recent developments that have expanded Lagos' role in electricity regulation and market development.

Mrs. George emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in achieving the state's energy objectives, noting that stronger partnerships between regulators, operators, and other industry players remain essential to ensuring reliable and accessible electricity for residents.

Participants also examined pathways for enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experience, and supporting investments needed to strengthen electricity infrastructure throughout the state.

The presence of Ikeja Electric Managing Director, Mrs. Folake Soetan, alongside representatives of EKEDC, underscored the shared commitment of distribution companies to support initiatives aimed at transforming power supply in Lagos.

The strategic session is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts geared towards building a more resilient electricity sector and bringing Lagos closer to its vision of uninterrupted, 24-hour power supply.
