Fuji music veteran Remi Aluko has shared a deeply personal update about his health, revealing that he is currently living with severe vision loss caused by glaucoma.

The singer made the disclosure during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he spoke candidly about how the condition has affected his daily life and long-standing music career.

Aluko explained that despite undergoing eye surgery in the past, his eyesight has continued to deteriorate over time, leaving him unable to see. He noted that many people are unaware of the extent of his condition because he continues to present himself confidently in public and on stage.

According to him, he has deliberately chosen to remain mentally strong and avoid allowing his health challenges to define his life or career.

“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down.”

He further explained that he has adapted to his condition and manages his daily activities independently, relying on experience and routine to navigate life without vision.

“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed,” he added.

Despite the severity of his health situation, the Fuji star remains active in the music scene, continuing to engage with fans and maintain his presence in the industry. His resilience has drawn attention from admirers who see him as an example of determination in the face of chronic illness.

Aluko’s revelation has also highlighted broader concerns about glaucoma, a condition that can lead to irreversible blindness if not properly managed, especially when treatment is delayed or ineffective.
