Nigerian singer Spyro has shared his thoughts on financial discipline in the entertainment industry, warning that reckless spending habits are a major reason some musicians struggle financially despite early success.
The Who’s Your Guy crooner made the remarks while addressing fans during a recent performance, where he reflected on money management, fame, and long-term planning in show business.
According to him, excessive spending on parties, luxury trips, and relationships is one of the quickest ways entertainers lose their wealth.
He stressed that while it is fine to enjoy life and support loved ones, financial decisions should be guided by moderation and foresight.
“If you are here and you are spending money on women, I think you are wasting your time. I am not saying you should not spend on your woman but use your head,” he said.
Spyro added that he has seen colleagues fall into financial hardship after receiving their first major earnings and spending it on lavish lifestyles.
“I know some of my colleagues who went broke because they made their first bag and blew it off on parties and trips to South Africa. But I didn’t move that way and that is why I am where I am,” he said.
Fame, Temptations and Personal Choices
The singer also claimed that after gaining fame and financial stability, he began receiving attention from social media influencers and Instagram models, some of whom allegedly offered him sponsored trips abroad.
He said he turned down such advances, explaining that he chose to remain focused on building his music career and making investments instead of indulging in expensive social distractions.
