Held on Friday, June 26, at Empower Field at Mile High, the opening show celebrated two of the genre's biggest stars, whose careers have shaped modern R&B for more than two decades. Divided into nine cinematic acts, the concert blended solo performances with collaborative moments that kept the crowd engaged from start to finish.
Usher took fans on a journey through his celebrated catalog, performing timeless classics including "Yeah!," "U Remind Me," "Confessions," "Love In This Club," "Burn," "Climax," and "OMG." His signature choreography and smooth vocals reminded concertgoers why he remains one of R&B's most enduring entertainers.
Chris Brown matched the energy with a career-spanning set featuring fan favorites such as "Run It," "Go Crazy," "Loyal," "No Guidance," "Forever," "With You," "Under The Influence," and "Kiss Kiss." Brown also showcased material from his recently released deluxe edition of his latest album, including songs like "For the Moment," "Residuals," and "It Depends (Remix)."
One of the biggest highlights of the evening came whenever the two superstars shared the stage. Their performances of "Party," "It Depends (Remix)," and the grand finale "New Flame" sparked some of the loudest reactions of the night, underscoring the chemistry that has made their collaborations fan favorites over the years.
The show also featured special appearances from R&B singers Mario and Eric Bellinger. Mario entertained the audience during the DJ break with a medley of his biggest hits, adding another layer of nostalgia to an already star-studded evening.
Beyond the music, the opening night showcased the evolution of two artists whose influence continues to shape contemporary R&B. Following its successful opening night, the Raymond & Brown Tour will continue through December, making stops in major cities including Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago.
The tour also arrives on the heels of Chris Brown's recently released 10-track deluxe edition of his 12th studio album, Brown. The expanded project debuted in the Billboard 200's top 10 and features songs including "We Embrace," "Holy Blindfold," and "It Depends."
