Nigerian content creator and streamer Carter Efe has reacted defiantly to Babcock University's decision to pursue legal action against him over claims that he forged the institution's academic certificate.
The controversy began after Carter Efe appeared on an interview with Egungun of Lagos, where he claimed he graduated from Babcock University with a First Class degree. He later fueled the claims by sharing what appeared to be his certificate on X (formerly Twitter).
The university subsequently dismissed the document as fake and announced that it would take legal action against those responsible for producing and circulating the alleged forged certificate.
In a statement, the institution said it was committed to protecting the integrity of its academic records and would be pursuing legal action against "those responsible for these forgeries."
Responding during a recent livestream, Carter Efe appeared to ridicule the university's legal threat, insisting that he was not worried by the move.
"I heard that Babcock University is looking for me, you would not see me. You will pay N100,000 for a ticket before you could see me in Babcock and we are coming soon," he said.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users treating the exchange as entertainment, while others argued that the allegations involve serious legal and ethical issues.
The dispute continues to generate widespread attention online as many await Babcock University's next legal steps regarding the alleged certificate forgery.
