Roc Nation revealed on Tuesday, July 7, that the hip-hop icon will headline a special concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 4. The date carries additional significance as it falls on the birthday of Beyoncé, Jay-Z’s wife and longtime collaborator.
The event will mark one of the biggest international stops in Jay-Z’s celebration of three decades since the release of his debut album. Fans hoping to attend can access pre-sale tickets beginning July 9 at 10 a.m. local time, while general ticket sales will open on July 10 at 10 a.m. local time.
The London concert will be Jay-Z’s first performance in the United Kingdom since 2018, when he and Beyoncé brought their highly successful On the Run II Tour to London Stadium for two sold-out shows.
For his last major solo appearance in London, Jay-Z returned to The O2 Arena in 2013 as part of his Magna Carta World Tour. The upcoming Tottenham Hotspur Stadium show will therefore represent a long-awaited return for fans who have not seen him perform a solo set in the city for more than a decade.
Before heading to Europe, Jay-Z will begin the anniversary celebrations at Yankee Stadium with three sold-out shows scheduled from July 10 through July 12.
The opening night will honor 30 years of Reasonable Doubt, which was released on June 25, 1996. Saturday’s performance will celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, while Sunday’s “Extra Innings” show remains under wraps, with details about the set list and theme yet to be revealed.
Released in 1996, Reasonable Doubt became the foundation of Jay-Z’s career and later grew into one of hip-hop’s most respected debut albums. The project reached No. 23 on the Billboard 200 following its release.
Five years later, The Blueprint further cemented Jay-Z’s status as one of rap’s elite artists. Released on September 11, 2001, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after selling 427,000 copies in its first week, according to Luminate.
Following the London performance, Jay-Z’s anniversary tour will continue with a September 10 show in Paris before moving back to the United States for a major concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on October 23.
With multiple stadium performances planned across continents, Jay-Z is proving that his influence remains as strong as ever.
