According to Transfermarkt data, the Super Eagles striker is now valued at €75 million. The latest ranking represents a significant change from his position at the top of the continental list in 2023. He dropped to second in 2025 and was third ahead of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations before falling further to fifth.
Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande leads the African ranking with a market value of €90 million, while Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo and Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi are all valued at €80 million.
Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo, also valued at €75 million, shares sixth place with Osimhen.
Strong Start Despite Ranking Drop
Osimhen’s lower valuation comes at a time when the Nigerian is enjoying a superb start to the 2026/27 campaign in Turkey.
The 27-year-old has scored four goals and provided one assist in just two matches for Galatasaray, continuing the prolific form that has made him one of the most feared strikers in European football.
He has also recently moved into third place on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign goalscorers list, further underlining his impact since joining the club.
Despite his current market value, Osimhen remains a player of considerable interest in the transfer market. Several clubs continue to monitor his situation as the transfer window approaches its closing stages, although no concrete move has materialised so far.
Arsenal are currently viewed as one of the most likely destinations should he leave Galatasaray, while Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are also keeping tabs on the Nigerian international.
Eighth Among World Centre Forwards
On the global stage, Transfermarkt ranks Osimhen as the 20th most valuable forward in world football. The website determines player market values using several factors, including age, performances, statistics and overall market conditions.
When the ranking is restricted specifically to centre forwards, Osimhen moves up to eighth in the world.
Manchester City and Norway striker Erling Haaland tops the list with a valuation of €220 million, followed by Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe at €200 million.
Julian Alvarez of Argentina ranks third at €120 million, while Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez are both valued at €85 million.
Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro complete the top seven, with each valued at €80 million. Osimhen’s €75 million valuation puts him immediately behind them.
Despite sitting eighth globally among centre forwards, Osimhen remains the most valuable Nigerian footballer and the most valuable player in the Turkish Super Lig.
Galatasaray Record Continues to Grow
Osimhen has strengthened his reputation as one of the most prolific African goalscorers in Europe since arriving at Galatasaray.
The Nigerian has scored 63 goals in 76 appearances for the Turkish giants since moving from Napoli, a remarkable scoring record that has made him a key figure in the club’s attack.
He will be hoping to add to that tally when Galatasaray return to Super Lig action against Goztepe on Saturday.
Two of Africa’s Most Expensive Transfers
Osimhen’s market value also comes against the backdrop of his remarkable transfer history.
His move from Lille to Napoli in 2023 was valued at $91 million, while his permanent transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray was reportedly worth $87 million. As a result, the striker features twice among the ten most expensive African players in football history.
Diomande’s reported $144 million move from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid currently tops the all-time list, followed by former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe’s $92 million transfer from Lille in 2019.
Lookman Also Flying Nigeria’s Flag
Osimhen is not the only Nigerian featuring prominently among Africa’s most valuable players.
Atletico Madrid winger Ademola Lookman is currently valued at €35 million and has continued to establish himself as an important attacking player since moving to Spain.
Lookman’s ability to create chances, carry the ball and influence games from wide areas has made him an increasingly important figure for both club and country.
He was also one of Nigeria’s most creative attacking outlets as the Super Eagles finished third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament in which Osimhen was also among the standout performers.
While Osimhen’s latest valuation represents a decline from his previous position on the African ranking, his performances for Galatasaray suggest that his market standing could change again if he maintains his current scoring form.
